Identify the contracting party first
Match the legal name, registration number, address, bank beneficiary and person negotiating. Email domains, pro forma invoice and contract should point to the same legal entity or to an explained group structure.
UBP GUIDE / UBP
Supplier due diligence is not one certificate or a marketplace rating. The decision combines independent checks of the company, product, commercial terms and ability to execute your specific order.

A real factory may still lack the process, material or quality control required. Ask for a technical response to the specification, traceable documents, a sample or pilot, and—where justified—an independent inspection against agreed criteria.
Record the specification, approved sample version, quantity, Incoterms rule and named place, schedule, documents, acceptance method, payment and non-conformity process. No individual check guarantees performance; each one addresses a defined risk.

Prepare your request
Which legal entity signs?
Does the bank beneficiary match?
Who actually manufactures the goods?
Can documents be verified at source?
Are the sample and acceptance criteria approved?
What are the payment and refund terms?
Who owns inspection and logistics?
What happens after delay or non-conformity?
This is an operational checklist, not legal, sanctions or financial due diligence. Depth depends on country, product, transaction value and regulatory exposure.
